Dough flour for Indian Roti/flat bread

The reason I am writing this recipe here is so that I can direct all my recipe here that need a dough.  Making  a dough for roti is easiest one and doesn’t need any extra ingredients apart from whole wheat flour and water.  Sometimes, people like to add pinch of salt but I prefer it to be non salty.

I use food  processor to dough a flour. But if you don’t have one, it is still easy to do.

Ingredients (See notes as well)

600 gms whole-wheat flour

This makes

Method :

Food processor :

  1. Add flour in bowl
  2. Now run the microprocessor and slowly add the water until a soft dough is formed
  3. If the dough looks hard add more water and if it is sticky add more flour.
  4. Transfer the dough in bowl and keep it in fridge and use up to 4 days.

No Food processor:

  2. Add water in small amount first and kneed the dough.
  3. Add more water as required until you get soft , non sticky dough.
  4. leave the dough for 5 minutes and kneed it again to make it a smooth.
  5. If the dough looks hard add more water and if it is sticky add more flour.
